How to Make a Diwali Gift Hamper Feel Special (Without Overspending)
Diwali gift hampers for kids: what to pick, how the unboxing works, and the live prices for the clip, bag charm and name tag sets, with the reel that inspired it.
Some gifts are cute. Gifts with a child's name on them are the ones they keep. That is the feeling behind this reel: a Diwali box that opens one small thing at a time and ends with something nobody else in the class has.
The short answer For a Diwali gift a child will use after the festival, pick a hamper with one or two personal pieces, such as a name clip, a shape tag or a bag charm, over a pile of unrelated extras. Hampers in this range start at ₹599. The hamper with the mix the reel describes, a rainbow bag charm with clips and tags, is the Rainbow Diva Hamper at ₹799.
Watch the reel
This is a Diwali unboxing. The caption lists the parts: name labels, hair accessories and a rainbow bag charm, packed together so the opening feels like a small event. Press play to watch it here, or open it on Instagram.
Why the unboxing matters more than the wrapping
Most parents we hear from have the same Diwali pattern. The gifts arrive in a rush between sweets and cousins, get opened on the sofa, and by the next morning a few of them are under the sofa. The box was lovely. The child just never got to keep anything from it.
Honestly, we would rather a child gets three things they can name than eight things that look the same. A personal piece gives a gift a reason to be kept, and that is the part that stops it getting lost.
How we thought about the hamper
When we set up the Rainbow Diva hamper we started from the child, not the price. Clips they can wear to school, a shape tag they can hang on a bag, and a bag charm they can show off. Each piece had to be useful on its own, so nothing sits in the box as filler. That is the test we use for every hamper we ship.
The part nobody mentions: the box is the wrapping
Many families buy a gift bag, then a box, then tissue on top. For a child, the box is the moment. A hamper that opens into the clips and the charm already does the job of the wrapping, so you can skip a layer and spend the time on the name. (Check the spelling before you pack, though. A tag with the wrong letter is the one thing you cannot unwrap your way out of.)
Pick the hamper by what the child will use

Honestly, if the child already has a drawer full of clips, skip the 6-clip box. The 2-clip Rainbow Diva with a charm will get used. Six clips in a drawer is the outcome we would most like to avoid.
The one thing I nearly missed
When we first looked at the reel, we saw a bag charm and a box and thought of it as an add-on. Then we looked at how children actually use these things. The charm is the piece they clip on by themselves, so it is the first thing they show friends at the gate. That is why we would pick a hamper with a charm over a bigger box without one.
Tip: Let the child choose which piece goes on the bag first. Something they picked is far more likely to stay on.
Before you order
- Check the spelling. Name pieces are made the way you type them, so enter the name exactly as your child writes it.
- Choose by use, not by the photo. Pick what the child will wear or hang in the week after the festival.
- Plan the moment. Hand over the box in the evening, away from the sweets, so the child has room to open it properly.
