Personalised School Kit for Kids: Labels, Bag Tags and Bento Box
The five parts of a personalised school kit, from transparent name labels to a named bento box and bag tags, why each matters and how to gift one.
A mother orders a bento box because her daughter refuses to eat lunch unless it is "the one with my name on it." A father orders labels for 12 notebooks at midnight before the first day of school.
Those orders happen every day at Bibliophiles, and they are exactly what a personalised school kit for kids is for.
This guide covers what goes into a complete kit, why each piece matters, and how to put one together for your child or as a gift.
The short answer A complete personalised school kit has five parts: transparent waterproof name labels, a personalised bento lunch box, bag tags, a personalised water bottle, and book and stationery labels. With your child's name on each, nothing gets mixed up and lost things find their way back.
Why a personalised school kit for kids works
Indian classrooms share one problem: too many of the same things. The same white water bottle, the same blue school bag, the same tiffin box in 40 different bags.
Things get mixed up and go missing, and at the end of the day a parent spends 10 minutes working out which bottle is their child's.
A personalised kit solves this at the root. When your child's name is on their bento box, bag, labels and bottle, there is no confusion. Teachers can return a misplaced bag quickly, and the child learns to link their name with their belongings, a small but real step towards responsibility.
If you'd rather buy the labels as a set, read our back to school combo guide, which compares the two label combos at Rs 899 and who each one suits.
What goes into a complete school kit
1. Name labels (transparent, waterproof)
Name labels are the foundation. They go on books, notebooks, pencil cases, water bottles, tiffin boxes, stationery and anything else that travels to school. For the books themselves, a pack of book name slips covers a full term's list.
Transparent labels are the most versatile because they blend with any colour or design: no clash with a bright book cover, no peel edge that catches on surfaces.
Our multi-embossed transparent label has a raised texture for a premium look. It is waterproof and dishwasher safe, so it survives the tiffin wash without fading. A sheet typically covers 10 to 15 items.

2. Personalised bento lunch box
A bento lunch box is one of the most practical upgrades for an Indian school bag. Separate compartments keep roti and sabzi apart, stop fruit getting crushed and keep dry snacks from going soft.
With your child's name on the lid, there is no confusion at the lunch table. Our personalised bento box is stainless steel, leakproof and sized for a school-going child's lunch.
For children who are particular about their things, seeing their own name on the lunch box makes a surprising difference to whether lunch actually gets eaten.
3. Personalised bag tags
Bag tags are the underrated hero of any school kit. They go on the school bag, sports kit, swimming bag and tiffin carrier, anywhere your child takes something that could get left behind.
A tag with the child's name and a contact number means the bag finds its way home even if the child doesn't notice it is missing.
- Signature bag tags: the most popular for school bags.
- Shape tags in animal and rainbow designs: best for younger children, who recognise the shape before they can read their name.
- Transparent acrylic tags.

4. Personalised water bottle
A stainless steel bottle with your child's name ends the "which bottle is mine" debate. Ours is BPA-free, leakproof and comes in sizes for preschoolers and older school kids.
Stainless steel keeps water cool longer than plastic, with no lingering taste from previous drinks.
5. Book labels and stationery labels
Book labels go on the inside front cover of every textbook and notebook. They look better than a ballpoint name, don't smear or tear, and last the whole year.
Stationery labels go on pencil cases, rulers, scissors and anything in the pencil box that tends to wander.
Ten books or more? A set of book labels is much faster than writing by hand, and easier to read when a teacher or classmate picks something up.

As a gift: school kits for Diwali and birthdays
A personalised school kit is a thoughtful gift, not because it is expensive, but because it gets used every single day.
For a birthday, a school admission or Diwali, a set of labels, a bento box and a bag tag is something parents appreciate as much as the child. It is useful, it is personal, and it won't end up at the bottom of a toy chest after a week.
For birthday return favours, individual name label sets work well as take-home gifts: each child gets their own set with their name on it. For a complete hamper, see our gifts page.
